how lux uncut scammed me

The Timeline

  • April 23rd, 2023 I contacted Lux Uncut via email to inquire about her content

creation services. I wanted to redo my online courses prior to my black friday sale.

  • July 31st, 2023 Lana Wyer sent a proposed contract (EXHIBIT A) that included a pricing sheet. I chose the second available option: the online course refresh and brand development package for $6,500. I chose the pay 50% up front and 50% after project completion per the proposed payment plan.

  • August 12th, 2023 I paid Lana Wyer $3,250 via zelle as agreed upon via the proposed contract and invoice received on August 8th, 2023 (EXHIBIT B). With the proposed timeline (EXHIBIT A), this would have meant Lux Uncut would complete the online course refresh and branding package between September 23rd, 2023 through September 25th, 2023.

  • September 20th, 2023 Lana Wyer emailed me a pdf file of a “brand board”. I was unable to use the brand board, but was able to view a few aspects via pdf and saw it during our zoom meeting where she mirrored it onto the screen. At no point did I receive access to this file, and still do not have access (EXHIBIT C).

  • October 13th, 2023 I emailed Wyer after not having any contact from her regarding drafts of the project. I recieved no response.

  • October 18th, 2023 I emailed Wyer requesting a response to my previous email. Lana responded to let me know the draft would be available to view on November 1st, 2023, 36 days later than agreed upon. Lana asked if I had received my branding package. I responded that I hadn’t. She did not respond.

  • November 1st, 2024 Lana Wyer shared only 18 rough draft images out of the hundreds that were to have been completed (see EXHIBIT A for image total proposed). As included in the contract, I requested multiple adjustments to be made as there were an incredible amount of mistakes made by Lux Uncut on just those 18 pages.

  • November 6th, 2023 Lana stated she would be unable to complete my requests for adjustments until the course was finalized. She claimed to need more information on my requested adjustments. I resent the examples and outlined the changes to the mistakes that needed to be made.

  • November 8th, 2023 Lana Wyer emailed me to notify me that she stopped “all production” on my project as her business Lux Uncut was now at a financial loss due to my request for adjustments, despite this being included in the original proposal. She finished the email with “Please accept this written notice of immediate termination of services.” She followed up to state she would be sending me the branding package. This was never sent.

  • November 9th, 2023 I followed up via email requesting a full refund or I would file a lawsuit. No response.

  • November 10th, 2023 I again requested a refund via email. I also contacted my bank to cancel the payment. However, as Lana requested Zelle, I was unable to receive a refund from my bank. I filed a complaint with the AG office and Consumer Affairs. I did not receive a response from Lana Wyer.

  • November 11th, 2023 In response to my public complaints about my experience with Lana Wyer’s company, Lana Wyer published by copywritten curriculum to the public on her company instagram in an act of retaliation. She was attempting to show content she claimed I was unhappy with, however, she was showing content that she never shared with me or gave my company access to.

  • November 17th, 2023 Lana Wyer received a cease and desist from my attorney regarding the request for a refund and outlining the contract breaches. Lana did not respond or refund my payment.

  • I am currently suing Lana Wyer in Maricopa County Justice Court and will provide updates on the ongoing litigation on both tik tok and instagram.

Example of what I paid a $3,250 deposit for. The minimal amount of content I did receive did not seem similar to the content she shares on social media and her website, and seemed rushed with multiple errors.

but wait…

There’s more. When I went public with my story, other women who had poor business dealings with lux uncut reached out. Here’s what they had to say.

Exhibit A: The contract proposed by Lana Wyer. I chose option II and paid the $3,250 via zelle.

Exhibit B: The invoice I recieved from Lux Uncut.

Exhibit C: The “branding package” that was shared with me via email from Lana Wyer. I had no access to it, and still do not have access. No refund has been issued.

This is the content that I received from Lana, 36 days later than what the contract proposed. Despite giving Lana access to dozens of content photos via Canva and Google Drive, she did not include any brand photos in the draft - claiming she did not receive content.

Screenshots taken from Lana Wyer @luxuncut’s instagram profile where she shared my copywritten curriculum to the public. This behavior is wildly unprofessional, illegal, and a blatant act of mistrust to her clientele who trusted her company enough to give her access to extremely sensitive information.
